 Length: 51' (15.2 meters), Beam: 24' (7 meters), Draft: 4'3 (1.2 meters), Gross tonnage: 15.5,  Net tonnage: 9.6, Rig: Ketch, Bow: Raked, Stern: Opens to dive platform, Keel: Skeg. Constructed out of high quality marine ply, cold molded using the West epoxy system the Main hull: 3 skins; side floats: 2 skins. Wooden frames with triple diagonal planking. 5 bulkheads. 9 watertight compartments and all forward facing windows are of 12mm armour plated glass with a 30 degree slope.
On boarding ''Tri-Chum'' and inside her you will feel glorious spaciousness! The layout is so brilliantly designed and executed that absolutely everything has its rightful place! So, when it is time to up anchor and move along, nothing needs to be specially stowed away because it is already secure and in its place! The Saloon is sunny, bright and spacious! Comfortable seating for six and feature new foam in the seats, plus brand new upholstery. Easy access from the galley for the cook! Has built in liquor and wine cabinet and special storage for condiments and a chess board built into the table.
 This vessel features an inside Helm Station. No need for the helmsman to brave the foul weather whilst everyone else is nice and cozy inside! ''Charlie'' (the Autohelm 5000 Linear drive autopilot), plus the high backed leather seat and the range of instruments at hand, all make for a comfortable helming experience! Windows have been strategically placed to give the helmsman 360 degree vision. Electronics include an ICOM 707 SSB radio, Autohelm 500 Linear Drive autopilot, President VHF Radio - all channels, VHF Hand - held Radio, Furuno Depth/Echo Sounder and Fish Finder, Goldstar 16 mile Radar set, Plastimo compass, Garmin 12xL GPS Autohelm ''Seatalk'' wind direction and speed measurement.
 There are three DOUBLE berth cabins - accommodation for SIX people in great comfort. All 3 cabins have: Six foot headroom, Hanging space and lots of lockers for clothes. Great for long term cruising or for exclusive charters! The 4th Cabin is currently an office/workshop/computer station.. This berth is currently setup as a ''study'' and for storing navigational charts, an artist's light box, power tools etc. It can very easily be converted back to a 4th double cabin thereby providing excellent accommodation for 8 people. 1991 - 1995: Exclusive charters from Richards Bay to Europa Island, Maputo & Madagascar
1996 - Major refurbishments and refit for long term cruising
1997 - Richards Bay to Madagascar, Commores, Maldives, Chagos, Thailand, Malaysia.
1998 - 2000: Malaysia, Thailand, Maldives, Chagos, Maldives, Thailand, Malaysia.
2000 - 2001: Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, over top of Irian Jaya, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, Opua (Bay of Islands, New Zealand)
2003 - Opua to the Town Basin in Whangarei.
2004 - 2005: Major refurbishments, repainting and renewing both inside and out. New paint on hulls and new anti foul.
2006 - Fully Refurbished 1000 Watt electric windlass, new chain locker, new boom, new boarding ladder, 4 new hatches, all decks repainted and many other small improvements.
