This vessel is protected against accidental groundings, by an 8 mm stainless steel plate shoe, and features both internal and external driving stations, steering is hydraulic. Powered by a 2004 Iveco AIFO 7.8 litre Cursor 8 500 HP single diesel, "Serenity" recently had a new shaft with 5 blade prop and a new gearbox installed. Electrical power is supplemented by an Isuzu 16 KVA genset backed up by 240 volt at the pier and three phase. The hydraulic system not only drives the anchor winch but also either one of two pot haulers, one smaller one a large unit, and both included in the price. The vessel also carries 2000 litres of fuel and 500 litres of filtered water. The very complete electronics package features the Seaplot system with Pescatus 3D imaging and a heat sensor, hooked up to the two Furuno GPS systems and displaying through two large LCD screens. Also on hand is a Kodan Sounder, an AP4 autopilot, a JRC 64 nautical mile radar, 2 VHF radios and a 6 stacker CD systm with internal and external speakers. "Serenity sleeps 5 and caters for those staying aboard with a toilet, hot shower, microwave, sink, dinette, air conditioning in the main cabin and an invertor for the appliances. The vessel offers fishos a 3 tonne freezer room with a 2nd refridgeration system (not currently in use) which could be used for brine. All the safety gear required for the current survey level is on hand including two 10 man life rafts.
