Ever been fishing in a Haines?? NO! well you're missing a treat. Long dedicated to the honourable cause of Australian fishos, Haines has a history of turning out "bullet proof" boats, each with a huge deadrise making them idel for rough offshore conditions and cockpits with heaps of space to fight the big ones. "Head Hunter" is no exception, this 530 (5.55 metre actually) is the Classic version (or upmarket version) of the 530 range (sibling of the Breeze). like all 530's she sports a 2.2 metre beam and in this case is powered up with the Honda 90HP four stroke turning a Solas SS prop. The smooth as silk, economical, class act Honda is a first choice amongst most who know their motors. First time every time starting, quiet and ecologically sound the big silver motors are marine enhancements of engines made for motor vehicles and Honda do it so well! This motor fire up courtesy of twin marine batteries with an isolator switch and is fed by a 125 litre tank which shold give the vessel a very fair range. "Head Hunter is equipped with a Navman 7200 top range VHF radio (2008) a GME 27 meg, a Navman 5507 GPS with Australia wide C-Map (2007) and a Navman fuel management system, a 4508 Navman colour sounder, a top shelf DNA CD player with am/fm radio function (2008) and pickup for this equipment is via two Pacific marine aerials (2008) The owner actually carried out a number of upgrades in 2007/08. All stainless steel drains and breathers along with a range of other stainless steel fittings were replaced at that time (just a fastidious owner) and a stainless steel wheel was fitted. In addition a deck wash pump and hose, stainless steel corner rod holders and a fibreglass cutting board with stainless steel rod holders were added to the boat's inventory in 2008. The vessel has a bimini with front and side clears, a sock for the bimini, a full travel cover and a custom OCA Honda motor cover. Not satisfied with those improvements the owner also "fluffed" up the appearance with new Haines Hunter badges and decals in 2008..... this is a fella who like to keep his things nice. The trailer (a Mackay multilink drive on drive off tandem model) was also improved with a new trailer winch with Jarrett winch cover, new light truck tyres and a custom removable engine support bracket. In addition all rollers were removed and serviced in 2008 and the trailer was rewired with new LED lights very recently. The vessel has been fitted with two spotlights on the rocket launcher and an LED worklight for the fishos. The vessel presents all the safety gear including a 406 EPIRB. If ever there was a more carefully maintained and serviced vessel, then I haven't seen it. This a ripping, ready to go, all conquering Haines, virtually a "must have" for any self respecting fisho.
