Renowned Haines Formula 233 which has been in consistent use and is in ready to go condition. The seller has owned "Freespool" for 11 years, he loves his boat and if not for the fact that he fishes with mates on a bigger vessel on a regular basis, this 233 would not be for sale.  These vessels are revered in the Australian fishing fraternity for their seakeeping abilities and there are still many, who will only own a Formula. With their massive 24 degree deadrise, huge freeboard and plentiful fishing space they make an ideal bluewater "battle wagon". This Formula rides on a brand new Sales tandem trailer with break-away brakes registered until January 2011 so there's an excellent start. The trailers on many of the older boats present in poor condition from consistent use and exposure to the elements. This Formula also offers a hardtop with side sliding windows and a lockup cabin which is not only in lovely condition as our high res photographs will show, but also offers good lighting and a Jabsco toilet. Like many other fittings the helmsman and co pilot seats are Relax, the screen has wipers and the hardtop has grab rails fitted both sides to assist with those all too frequent excursions to the nose for one reason or another. Whilst you're at it check out the photo of the wiring, the owner is a "sparkie" and this is the nicest wiring presentation I have seen on a boat of this age in a very long time. Brackets for the Relax Reefrunner outrigger game poles are also fitted to the solid glass cabin sides and a rocket launcher sprouts from the rear of the hardtop. The workdeck is carpeted, there is a deck wash at the new owner's disposal, a berley cruncher on the stern, a shotgun pole and the gunwhales are fitted up with 24KG Relax rod holders. The 165 horse power Mercruisers on "Freespool" were completely rebuilt in 2004 and run smoothly and reliably. These units take fuel from the three tanks which have a combined total of 580 litres available and naturally this vessel has a bilge blower. Sea Star Hydraulic steering, trim tabs and Alpha 1 drives complete the picture with the propulsion system. Like many of the bluewater boats this vessel has run up heaps of hours at idle speeds and the economy regardless is excellent. The driving station is complete with Ritchie  compass, JRC-790 GPS, Furuno FCV-600L sounder, GME 27 meg radio, GME VHF radio and GME CD player with cockpit and cabin speakers. As you would expect the safety gear inventory is complete, including  a 406 EPIRB and 2 x 2200 litre Johnson bilge pumps with Rule float switches in the rear and a Rule 1100 litre bilge pump forward. Sand and reef anchors, rope and chain, mooring lines, fenders, a down bouy and 12 volt DC outlets complete the picture. You'll struggle to find a 233 in the condition "Freespool" presents, though we hasten to add, that like all preowned boats of this age it is not perfect. It is however ready to go, pick it up drive straight to the launching ramp, hit the canyons and hook into a nice big marlin. Nothing to add but rods lures and fuel. This is a highly desirable package, an Australian legend which is becoming increasingly difficult to find.
