The Crusader is one of those older Caribbean hulls built bullet proof and to last. This example is in superb nic and is an absolute credit to the owner. At 23 feet it is a bit different to the latter day 23's having more of a propacity to take on the rough stuff and carve it up. Further this particular hull (unlike many of it's contemporarys) has never been antifouled or left in the water. The hardtop makes these beauties highly desirable, however this owner has taken the further step of fitting an elevated hardtop over the cockpit (standing room underneath) with a slide out extension which goes right to the stern. Roll up side and rear canvasses zippered and complete with insect screens (also has insect screens for sliding windows in the cabin and for the hatch) give the setup a full camper cover finish. This arrangement provides excellent protection from harmfull UV rays and for extended sleeping arrangements when the vessel is used as an overnighter. See also LED deck, cabin and anchor lights. Carpeted throughout the stay-aboard aspect of the Crusader is also fiited out with a porta potti, portable gas stove, sink, 50 litre water tank, presurized water system, deck shower, infill for the nose v-berth, lockup main cabin and dinette. The cockpit is spacious regardless with full length side storage pockets and quarter seats prominent. A boarding ladder and swimming platform allow easy access to the vessel. The 23 lives in storage under the special cover pictured at right. The 230 HP Mercruiser (around 300 hours) has recently had a new cooling system and risers fitted together with a new leg which has clocked up less than 40 hours. This motor runs like a swiss watch and has been very well maintained. She is sparked up by twin HD batteries with an isolator switch and draws fuel from the new alloy 180 litre tank. The new owner can expect reliable and economical cruising in the Crusader. A Northstar sounder/GPS/plotter combo provides direction and the electronics package also includes both a 27 meg and Northstar 700E VHF radios. Naturally a fella this fussy has a full set of fenders (and spares) ropes, all the safety gear including a new 406 EPIRB an unbelievable range of spares. Rounding off what is going to be a really nice family cruiser for somebody , the boat is equipped with a Muir 600 electric anchor winch, and a Silver Marine RIB with a 2 HP Honda outboard. The Beejay tandem axle trailer was recently fitted with new axles with disc brakes and has an Tekonsha electric over hydraulic brake system. Add a new spare and submersible LED lights and the trailer is also in good to go. In short the Crusader is a fantastic family boat whether you wish to fish, ski or just sip a couple chardonnays whilst at anchor in that secret cove only you know about, she is stable at rest, very good in the rough water and in this case well maintained and presented.
