Deluxe Accomodation  Ideal Retirement Investment

"Only an inspection will verify how nice this vessel really is, contact us to arrange to do so, you will not be disappointed"

In full Queensland survey, not just commercially registered and regularly fishing 100 miles off the Queensland coast. "Mack the Knife" does not present like a trawler. From the spotless plant room to the saloon and accomodation areas this cruiser is indeed immaculate and  not a cent to spend anywhere. This is the second boat we have listed for this owner and the hall mark of his vessels is that they are all in superb condition and an absolute credit to him.  The owner is moving back to land based activities and the vessel must be sold. "Mack" has been used to fish 200 nautical miles off the Qld coast and with 3500 litres of diesel and 3000 litres of water in the tanks, be assured "the Knife" is go anywhere and do anything! Further the vessel has just been slipped, cleaned painted antifouled and prop and shaft done. This vessel is not just an excellent commercial fisher/charter unit (see underdeck 2 tonne freezer, 250 kilo brine tank and 450 kilo ice box, she is so nicely fitted out inside (see lovely unmarked timber trim, furnishings and Fujitsu split air conditioning) she will also serve as a superb, and stable long range family cruiser......next stop Fiji! Back to the owner, this is one fastidious bloke, take a look at the plant room photos, you could spill your cornflakes anywhere in there and eat them off the floor with absolutely no fear whatsoever and the owner tells me that these snaps were taken before he actually cleaned in there.....good heavens! I'm going to have to have a word to my wife. There is a three page inventory available for this boat and I'm not even going to try to replicate it here, however let's cover the basics. The hull is steel hard chine  with bilge keels (very stable) 5mm plate with reglassed decks and 4mm plate superstructure. Stainless steel rub plates on exposed corners are evident everywhere and clearly a great deal of thought has gone into preparing the cruiser properly. Accomodation features are numerous starting with sleeping for seven (including a bunk in the wheelhouse), desk and storage, hot showers (courtesy of a new rheem hot water unit) a macerating toilet with holding tank, fully equipped galley (oven, microwave, grill and Waeco 220 litre fridge) proper dining table, lounge and heaps of storage, drawers cupboards etc.....very inviting very comfortable. To the spic and span engine room I have already mentioned, main drive unit is a completely rebuilt 6 LXB Gardner with a mere 2500 hours clocked since the rebuld. Auxillary power is via a 25 KVA Mecc-Alti alternator powered by a Perkins 3 cylinder keel cooled motor and a a 3.5 KVA Yanmar auxillary. Prospective buyers should note fuel consumption at 8 knots is no more than 12 litres per hour. This system supports 4 banks of batteries dedicated to starting, house and starting, wheelhouse and computors and monitoring. The batteries are charged up by a 24V Durst 40 amp dual output unit and a 12V CTEK XS 7000. So no worries about electrical supply, you could light up Lunar Park with this setup. Steering for "Mack" is Hy-Drive hydraulic with a TMQ 24 volt pump for the autopilot and emergency tiller for just that....emergencies! Ground tackle includes three anchors, a Sarca 45kg, a 60 lb Manson and a 90lb Mason plough retrieved by a 415V anchor winch with gypsy and capstan. In addition the vessel has 500 Metres of 22 mm silver rope, plus 25 metres of 10mm on a rope drum driven by a 5hp 415 volt motor through a 50:1 reduction box......add a fisherman series parachute anchor and there's your external vessel control systems complete. Like the owner's previous vessel "Mack" is superbly equipped for navigation and fishing. JVC and Furuno GPS and plotters, the Furuno unit being a combo system with sounder/radar/plotter (Navnet), chart plotter and bottom 3D imaging via Maxsea computor (int'd with Furuno Navnet system) and all this information on view via 3 19" screens in the wheelhouse (Viewsonic) and replicated on the workdeck by two more 19" Viewsonic screens. Add TMQ AP4 autopilot with pilot remote control, rudder angle indicator, Danforth compass with 75mm card and HF (Codan) and VHF radio systems. The vessel is equipped with a range of pumps, for raw and fresh water deck washdown, automatic bilge pump out, deck pumps etc, Gilkes, Onga and Johnson all listed in the inventory. Naturally the vessel has a full range of fire suppression equipment including a plant room spray system and all the safety gear required for the 3B survey including a 6 man RFD with 406 EPIRB and a 3.4 metre Zodiac tender with Yamaha outboard. Looks like I have done, what I set out not to do and listed a large number of the features and benefits in this writeup regardless. However this is such a well outfitted, thoughtfully setup, nicely decorated and beautifully maintained boat, it is difficult not to "wax lyrical" In fact this is one of the nicest boat we have listed in our ten years running this web site. It is guaranteed in spectacular condition with a wide range of appeal and ready to undertake any of the options and possibilities I outlined for the vessel above. "Mack the Knife" is worth every penny of the asking price and I would dis-encourage dreamers and bargain hunters.
