Sea Ray commenced building boats in 1959 and in 1986 joined the giant Brunswick Corporation. The Brunswick Corporation is the largest builder of boats and marine engines in the world. The result every Sea Ray is well designed, blue water capable and sublimely comfortable at rest and superbly constructed and finished. The 225 is powered up with a 5 litre Mercruiser MPI unit, power delivered via the Alpha leg and a stainless steel prop all under the control of power steer. The "Merc" is sparked up by twin HD batteries with a switch (see engine compartment photo below) and draws fuel from a 189 litre tank. This GM derived propulsion unit did not arrive yesterday and is well developed, supremely reliable and inexpensive to service and operate. The Weekender is all about having a "bob each way", plenty of cockpit space for angling, heaps of power for some skiing or fun with the water toys (all the ski gear, a water lounge and a knee board are included in the package) note also a full width swimming platform and foldaway boarding ladder or weekend, virtue of a nice v-berth with infil, porta potti, sink, cooler built into the servery, full camper covers, single berth over the engine cover (with quarter seats in place), dinette table and carpet everywhere......very nice indeed! Complete with all the safety gear the 225 rides on a tandem axle trailer with electric hydraulic over disc brakes and full registration.
