This is the second time we have handled this lovely Peterson 30 and the owner has enjoyed a great deal of fun and R & R on the vessel since he purchased it through us just a few years ago. However, for him, the time has come to move back to something a little bit smaller. This vessel is highly adaptable and whilst it is an awesome weekend cruiser, she will also make a fabulous family racing yacht offering a competitive vessel that's going to get everyone very excited. At 30 feet in length and with a 5'10" beam and 1.7 meter draft, the vessel is loves to cruise to Rottnest Island very safely for weekends of fun and relaxation.
She is a fibreglass hull and deck with a lovely timber fit out below decks. The auxiliary power unit for this Peterson 30 is a Volvo Penta 2 cylinder diesel 11HP with a 40 litre tank and miserly fuel usage at just 1.25 litres per hour at cruise (5 knots). The Volvo spins a twin blade folding prop and can be crank started should the need arise, a major benefit if you happen to drain the batteries unexpectedly.
This sloop sports a masthead rig with an inner forestay, 2 jib halyards and 2 spinnaker halyards, a fully battened main with two reefing points lazy jacks and a bag, Dacron no's 1, 2, 3, and 4 and Mylar no 1.1/2 headsails (all headsails are hanks onto the forestay), a self furling jib, a spinnaker with sheets and kickers and 2 poles and a jockey pole, a block and tackle mast lowering system, 2 two speed headsail sheet winches, two secondary spinnaker sheet winches, two halyard winches (cabin top), 2 small reefing winches and all sailing controls/halyards are in the cockpit for single handed work.....
The cockpit is spacious and is enhanced with padded benches large enough to take a snooze on, 2 cockpit lockers, an articulated cockpit table, a cockpit access ladder built in to the pushpit and a battened sun awning (covers the entire cockpit and the cabin up to the mast) absolutely ideal for those sunny days at "Rotto", Cockburn sound and the lovely Swan River. Step down into the saloon and you will find a dinette, a chart table, a nose V-berth, two quarter berths (the dinette folds down to make another double), a toilet, sink (100 litre water tank with a foot pump), stove, ice chest and 7' of headroom which is excellent accommodation in a yacht this size! A compass, 27 meg radio, all the safety gear and an RIB tender with a motor complete the inventory in this "ready to go" cruiser.
A Mooring in Nedlands is also available (at extra cost, please enquire)
Get yourself out there and in front of the breeze this coming summer in this lovely Peterson 30!!
